Your order will be processed as soon as possible, usually within 24-48 hours. In order to guarantee freshness and quality of our meats, while shipping in the summer months, we require UPS Next Day Air. Certain zip codes in Texas may be shipped using UPS Ground, to see if your zip code qualifies click here. We ship out Monday - Thursday of each week. Not all zip codes support overnight shipping, so please be sure to verify availability before you order.     The Salt Lick ships all orders via UPS. UPS will deliver your product between 9am and 7pm Monday-Friday, on the date indicated on your tracking information. UPS drivers will not always attempt to make personal contact with residential recipients, unless specifically requested via the "signature required" option, so be sure to be on the lookout for your delivery!


    Upon arrival the meat can be put in the fridge for up to 1 week or put directly into your freezer for up to 2 months. They meat comes with reheating instructions for both the oven and grill. Reheating instructions are available for download here.

    Shipping cost is calculated according to the weight of the product and the zip code the product is being shipped to. During checkout you will have an opportunity to select the method of shipment available to your zip code, the estimated delivery date, and see the shipping cost before submitting your payment.     Upon completion of your order you will receive a confirmation email from The Salt Lick. If you do not receive this email please contact us to ensure we received your order. The afternoon your order is shipped you will receive tracking information to the email address you provided. This email will come from UPS Quantum View and depending on your email provider may go directly into the SPAM folder.

  • How is my order shipped?
  • Our meats have been fully cooked on our famous pits and are then frozen and vacuum sealed. To ensure freshness we ship the meats using UPS with ice gel packs. Central Texas orders may be shipped via Ground while all other orders will need to be shipped 2nd business day. Next business day is available for many zip codes at an additional charge. UPS may deliver 9AM – 7PM or later during the holidays. There is no way to determine the time of your delivery, it depends on where you fall on your local UPS route.

  • We are unable to make substitutions on our packages. You cannot substitute beef ribs for pork ribs, etc.
